If the Xbox handheld rumours weren’t already enough this week, one other rumour about the supposed Oblivion “remake” has now returned.

After a previous leak dating back to 2023 (followed by many other details), well-known insider ‘NateTheHate’ has now chimed in – suggesting this Elder Scrolls “remake” will be revealed in the “coming weeks”. VGC has also investigated this and believes it could be dropping well before June:

VGC: “Nate claims the game will likely release before June, while sources have told VGC it could arrive as soon as next month.”

Either way, it seems like a potential announcement of this long-rumoured game could finally be happening.

Based on previous reports, it’s believed this remake will be handled by the team at Virtuos and would be “fully remade” in Unreal Engine 5. According to some other findings, it’s expected to include six improved areas: “Stamina, Sneak, Blocking, Archery, Hit Reaction, and HUD.”

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion originally made its debut on the Xbox 360 and is still available on Microsoft’s storefront as part of the backwards compatibility program. It’s also included with Xbox Game Pass.
