PS5 trophies for an Xbox game appeared online earlier today, leading players to believe that Sony had just leaked an unannounced PS5 port. Microsoft Flight Simulator is one of the games expected to land on PS5 soon, but the trophies that popped up online are from everyone’s favorite type of PS Store games: clones and shovelware.
PS5 port of Xbox’s latest Flight Simulator game has been rumored for a while
The trophies in question are for a game called Flight Simulator 2025. The Xbox game is titled Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. A PS Store page for the knock-off lists Grizzly Games Limited as the developer — a name that’s probably familiar to anyone who has had to wade through PS Store junk.
We can’t quite blame people for falling for it as these pages cleverly mimic real entries. It was only earlier this month that a popular horror game was trending on PS Store ahead of games like Split Fiction, but it turned out to be a fake version of hit PC game, REPO [R.E.P.O.].
We don’t think Microsoft is going to be particularly happy about this one, especially since rumor has it that the real Flight Simulator is in the process of being ported over to PS5. How long the knock-off stays up is anybody’s guess, though.
