Plants Vs. Zombies Reloaded reportedly rated by Brazilian classification board

  • Plants Vs. Zombies Reloaded has been classified on Brazilian ratings board
  • It could be an early indicator of an upcoming new release in the series
  • Although how far ahead this is, and whether it’s some sort of remaster, isn’t yet clear

It’s a day ending with a Y, and you know what that means! Yes, it’s time for a little bit of wild speculation about upcoming releases; although in this case it’s got a little more substance than most. Reportedly, a new title in the Plants Vs. Zombies franchise has just been classified by the Brazilian Classificação Indicativa rating board.

Named Plants Vs. Zombies Reloaded, the release is classified for mobile and consoles. It should be noted that classification can be very different to trademarking, which is usually where early-bird news is drawn from. In this case, it could mean that the classification board has access to some sort of early build of Plants Vs. Zombies Reloaded in order to give it a classification.

It also seems to have only warranted an L or all-ages rating, which is pretty natural for a family-friendly franchise. However, it doesn’t offer further details about pricing, microtransactions or other details.

Going for a reload

Plants Vs. Zombies was one of the major success stories of early mobile gaming, and with the backing of EA, it even made the jump to mainline consoles with the fully 3D Garden Warfare series. As for the title itself, it could mean anything from a revamped rerelease to a proper full-fledged sequel depending on how you take the Reloaded part.

All that being said, it’s still not altogether ensured that Plants Vs. Zombies Reloaded will see the light of day. But if it is this far ahead in production I’d wager we’ll get some sort of announcement this year.
